Root Canals - Glendale, AZ
root canal treatments
Root canals are often the scariest two words a patient can hear, but at Arrowhead Foothills Dentistry our gentle dentists make sure you have a pain-free and stress-free experience.
Pain-free root canal procedures
A root canal is not as bad as its reputation suggests! Many patients compare a root canal to getting a dental filling for a cavity. In fact, most patients report that the pain caused by their infected tooth far outweighs the discomfort they feel during a root canal procedure.
A root canal is needed whenever the pulp of your tooth becomes infected. This infected pulp houses dental nerves. When these dental nerves become agitated, it can create harrowing pain in your mouth, resulting in a toothache.
Root canal Procedure & Process
At Arrowhead Foothills Dentistry, we will do our best to help you feel relaxed and comfortable during your root canal procedure. We will administer local anesthesia to the target area, effectively numbing your mouth. We also offer nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, as another way to help you feel calm during your procedure. Once you feel calm, we will begin the procedure. Your endodontist and dentist will use the utmost care and precision during your root canal treatment. You can rest assured that you’ll be in good hands.
Once the infected pulp is removed, your dentist may either seal the affected area with either a temporary filling or a dental crown. Your dentist may also prescribe an antibiotic to help completely eliminate the infection.
